Ease of Use
Using the Hoover Powerdash Pet was almost as effortless as regular vacuuming, only louder. I treated a large area, so the majority of the time was spent replacing the solution, and removing accumulated fur/carpet fibers. Even so, the project was complete in a little more than an hour.
How to:
- Complete steps to prepare/protect the area (see owner’s manual).
- Assemble the unit. Simply connect the handle to the pole and insert into the base. Release when the ‘CLICK’ sound is heard.
- Fill the 2-liter canister with a prepared cleaning solution (included) to the fill line. I used Puracy™ rather than the included Hoover™ solution. Push the capped tip firmly down into the chamber.
- Turn on the Hoover Powerdash™ Carpet Cleaner. Squeeze the trigger for wet strokes, and release for dry ones.
Effectiveness
The Hoover Powerdash Carpet Cleaner did an amazing job at refreshing our entire 8’x 10’ area rug. I figured the used solution would soon run clear. Nope. I finally tired after about the 8th time trekking outside to empty it and considered the area rug cleaned. I did several dry swipes over the entire rug in the hopes that it would decrease drying time. After, with most of the water suctioned up, the rug felt only slightly damp. I took a step back. The tones that made me finally decide on purchasing it…restored!

Final Thoughts
This product lives up to the ‘2X MORE CLEANING POWER’ claim printed on the box. I should point out, it is marketed as a pet carpet cleaner. The use of heat and a spinning roller adds an antimicrobial advantage for cleaning pet messes. But, regardless of whether you have a pet or not, this product adds a sanitary spin to clean high-traffic, carpeted areas. I’m happy to have added it to our home-cleaning arsenal!
